Maine Big Night – Citizen Science Project
April 9th – May 7th
Volunteers are invited to join Runamuk Acres in this statewide citizen science project. On the first Big Night in the month of April, our farm steward and other participating family and community members, will gather alongside the road at the edge of our farm’s vernal pool. We will collect data for scientists, and help amphibians safely cross the road. Email us to join our team of citizen scientists to participate. Volunteers are invited to join us at the farm for this spring work party. Activities revolve around the gardens: planting, laying irrigation, building trellises and supports for crops, and more. Refreshments and a light-lunch provided. Come for an hour or come for the day. We will send you home with some of our locally produced food in exchange for your efforts!

Volunteers are invited to join us at the farm for this early-summer work party. The focus will be on getting any remaining seeds/plants in the ground for the growing season, weeding, etc. Refreshments and a light-lunch provided. Come for an hour or come for the day. We send you home with some of our locally produced food in exchange for your efforts!

4th Annual Firefly Festival

Join Runamuk in celebrating the magic of fireflies! Children of all ages can enjoy firefly-themed activities, stroll through our 10-acre field by starlight to observe fireflies in action, roast marshmallows beside the campfire, and learn more about fireflies and what we can do to protect their populations for future generations.

To celebrate, and give thanks for the bounty of the growing season, Runamuk invites CSA members to the farm for a fabulous farm-to-table outdoor dinner.

Removing irrigation lines, bringing tools and equipment off the field, harvesting crops, and such. Refreshments and a light-lunch provided. Come for an hour or come for the day.
