I’m pleased to announce that I am now an ambassador for JustStrong clothing─activewear for women! Wait─what? I can almost see you doing a double take there, lol; this doesn’t seem like Sam’s usual sort of thing, right? Keep reading to get the whole story!
Anyone who knows me knows that I am no fashion diva. I have my own understated sense of style, usually including jeans, timberland work-boots, fingerless gloves, and a hand-knit winter hat. When I’m on the farm, anything I wear must be durable and functional, because it’s probably gonna end up covered in dirt or shit─probably both. I work hard and I need my clothes to work hard too.
It all started when I happened upon an advertisement on Instagram for the JustStrong clothing line. Their message really resonated with me: empowering women to be strong. motivating them to overcome their adversaries and embrace their strength, no matter the source. After everything I’ve gone through to get where I am today, that message moved me─it spoke to me. I am a strong woman. Me! And I knew instantly that I wanted to empower other women to feel strong too.
No, I don’t go to the gym, and I don’t lift weights. My body style is such that you can tell I’m pretty good shape, but that I also don’t say no to a cookie, lmao. What can I say─I like good food (that’s part of the reason I’m a farmer, afterall!), and I have a sweet tooth!
I do, however, have this super-active farming lifestyle that has made me rugged as all hell. I can lift 100 pounds if needed, and I have a high level of endurance, able to work long hours in most conditions. To facilitate my chosen lifestyle, I regularly practice yoga; I’ve found the stretching significantly helps to keep my muscles and joints limber, which allows me to keep doing the work I love as I continue age (I’m not getting any younger, you know!).
I like how JustStrong makes a point to acknowledge that there are different types of strength. I like that they admit that it’s not about being toned, curvy, or slim─it’s about being the strongest and greatest version of yourself that you can be. I think that applies to all of us: man or woman; but I also feel like─for most women─it’s harder for us to allow ourselves to do that. to be that person.
JustStrong seeks to empower and motivate strong women from every walk of life to never give up. That’s why their logo is the squat─it’s an analogy for life; it’s about standing back up after something heavy gets you down.
As an ambassador for JustStrong I was given a 10% discount code, which will be applied your order when you click on the JustStrong button now located in the sidebar of this website. Just be aware that JustStrong is a UK company, so when you get to their site the prices may initially be listed in pounds, but it will convert to dollars as you browse. Also, your order may take a little longer to reach you because it’s coming across the ocean and through customs.
