I’ll be back!

It’s been a while since I last posted, and I don’t have the time to do it now, either. But for those of you who might follow this blog on a regular basis, I just wanted to give you a brief up-date.

Runamuk is in hot pursuit of a loan so that we can establish a foundation at our new home. We’re going to need a well, septic, earthwork, a house, garage-workshop, and two polytunnels for seedling production.

Following my first meeting with Janet Roderick at the Small Business Development Center in Fairfield I’ve been putting in overtime revamping my business plan to get it in shape to be presented to a loan officer. The SBDC is a free resource for small business owners and Janet is proving to be an invaluable tool. While it is hard to wait to be able to even find out if we have a shot at a loan, I know that by putting the time and effort into this loan package will be well worth it. If I can impress upon these bankers the vision I have in mind for Runamuk–the opportunity we have before us–I am sure they will see fit to lend us the start-up funding that we so desperately need.

My next appointment is on Tuesday, when Janet will attempt to teach me about financial projections, the most important part of a business plan. Between now and then I need to finish the first part of the plan, which covers what products we offer and how they are produced, processed, and packaged, what our customer base looks like, and what’s happening in our industry. And with two kids in this tiny house getting it finished is easier said than done.

But don’t worry–finish it I shall. And I shall return to writing soon–I have a great post about making your own laundry soap that I want to share with my readers.

Cheers!
