Science for Preschoolers

Establishing an atmosphere of science-inquiry even when your children are small, will set the foundation for a scientific lifestyle that encourages your family to explore their curiosities and learn more about the science of the world around them.

Most young children are naturally curious and inclined to exploration.  The traditional school system cannot encourage this inquisitive nature, and typically children loose their curiosity and drive for learning as they spend year after year entrenched within the institutional setting.  As homeschoolers keeping our babies at-home, instead of squashing this precious curiosity, we can actually inspire and promote it, and guide our children to love exploring and learning new things.

Fostering a love and understanding for science can be incorporated in your day-to-day activities through mindful promotion of science-inquiry.  Allow your preschooler the freedom to explore and discover, use scientific-jargon (like “That’s a really great observation!” or: “Let’s try an experiment.” ), let him play with scientific-tools like a magnifying glass, ruler, or thermometer; you’ll be amazed how much he will learn just by playing and exploring.
